Renaming / Mapping date fields for calculation

couldn't think of a better title

I have a database table with field names of COL1 to COL(n). Via a mapping table I assign new column names, which looks like below example:

OLDNAME  NEWNAME
COL1 [Vol 2009]
COL2 [Vol 2010]
COL3 [Vol 2011]
COL4 [CoS 2009]
COL5 [CoS 2010]
COL6 [CoS 2011]
COL7 [PAPU 2012]
COL8 [PAPU 2013]
COL9 [PAPU 2014]
FieldNameMap:
Mapping LOAD OLDNAME, NEWNAME
FROM
MappingTable.xlsx
(ooxml, embedded labels, table is Sheet1);
Rename Fields using FieldNameMap;

Now I need those columns to correspond with a year field so that when for example the year 2009 is selected I can make calculations for Vol 2009 and CoS 2009.

Not all of my columns have the same start and end year as you can see in the example above.

What do I need to do to get this done? Do I need to change my Mapping table?
