Hi I have a tab separated txt file (extension .ttx), when loading into QV it recognises the fields and the headers but only loads 21,000 rows of data instead of 68,000 - any ideas why this would be happening?

Re-saving the file with a .txt extension stops the issue but I can't automate the conversion...

Thanks,

CJ

Did you only rename the file or first open it and then save it with another name? I think there's likely a special character that it chokes on. Opening the file and resaving it might convert that character so it doesn't trip up the load anymore. This can happen for example when you get a UTF-8 encoded file and try to read it as ascii. You may need to change the charachter set setting:

(txt, codepage is 1252, no labels, delimiter is ';', msq);

(txt, utf8, no labels, delimiter is ';', msq);
