topic Most Efficient Data Source Format in QlikView

I am using the 64-bit Server. The primary data I'm loading to my server are dBase5 files. I have the 32-bit ODBC connection working, but, as you can imagine, it takes quite a while (hour or so) to load about 16 million records.

I converted the dBase file to a CSV and made a new project and tried loading the ~3.5GB csv file. The program became unresponsive and never even got to the "loading records" part.

What is the best datasource format for QlikView to read?

Is the actual loading/transformation into QlikView the bottleneck as opposed to the datasource? If so, I won't worry about the data type.

Thanks,

Rich

Hi Rich,

probably creating of qvd files and incremental reload would be the good way for solving described issues.

regards
