Hi

I am preparing a financial application pulling figures mainly from a SQL table for general ledger enties.

the GL Table will have a date and amount for each entry I link this to a calendar to get an appropriate year month

I then want to link to an excel spreadsheet which only has the year month for the budgeted amounts.

This all works fine for months where there is already an entry in the main GL Table but for future months where there is budget but no actual I don't see the budget figure in my chart

The tables currently join via a key made up of yearmonth and GL code but think I want an outer join, having looked at the help I can see this is possible but can't seem to get the syntax correct, should I use the join on resident tables or apply the join when I bring in the second table?

Any guidance much appreciated

Thanks

Matt
