Sravan,

I did and I did not manage to connect to the database as I wanted. I required a new 64Bit ODBC driver because I was running on a 64 bit machine and this worked. Unfortunately I did not manage to connect without using a user-id. I have connected using the new driver and a user-id and everything seems to work fine now.

Gavin.

Hi,

Historically we have been loading all our data into QlikView via multiple .csv files, the decision was recently taken to try and improve this by loading in as much data as we can via a ODBC connection. A problem arose when we tried to connect to a database without any users, we have 3 databases in our package and only one has user records on, the other 2 rely on the authentication of the first ( not sure why, some historical reason ). The Microsoft OTBC manager connects & tests fine with all 3 databases unfortunately this does not seem to be the case inside QlikView, QlikView refuses to connect to the database with NO users and just hangs without a error message. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks,

Gavin.

Hi Gavin,

well, honestly I've not any experience with Progress DB and I cannot test the scenario either, but I faintly remember a similar problem with ODBC some time ago (we're mostly using OLE DB with Oracle now as I already had strange adventures with ODBC for Oracle). I'll try if I find the issue in my old files, but perhaps there are some Progress specialists around here - if it really is a DB specific issue ...

Sorry to not be able to be of mor help for the time being,
Rgds,
Joachim

O.K. No problem thanks for looking.

We have tried to use OLE DB, on the test server (32 Bit) all works O.K. but can't get a single connection to work on our live box (64 Bit). Can't see the tables on any of the databases, says the connection is O.K but just can't see any tables, keeps asking to reconnect. Will have to keep exporting to .csv for the time being ....

Gavin.
