Problem with Reduce data based on section access

Hi all,

I am using section access in a file for user authentication & showing only related data for that user. Now my assumption for data reduction is

In all data, when I am selecting a the value for a field , the view that I get & the Reduce data for that same field should be same.

But when I do that in my qlikview file It is not showing me proper data as selecting the field.

If any one can help me on that. Thank's in advance.

Hi Amar,

The reduce data based on section access should work a bit like you mention but with one other step. When you make the selection of the field, go to the File menu and select the "Reduce Data" option and "Keep Possible Values". This should be quite like what you would see as that user.

If, instead of removing the data, you just want the initial selection to be based on the user, you can select "Initial Selection Based on Section Access" instead of the reduce option in the Document Properties.
