hi guys,

I have a flat table which has a number of expressions (1 for each row). I have limited the month dimension to a maximum of showing 3 using the check box in the presentationtab of chart properties. I also have a list box which enables users to choose a quarter.

The problem is, if a user chooses 2 quarters eg, the last 2 quarters of 2010 the list box will only show Jul/Aug/Sep (due to the limit I imposed) whereas i would like it to show Oct/Nov/Dec. I know I can reverse the ordering so if 2 quarters are shown it will show: Dec/Nov/Oct but this isn't the order I wish to display it. Any thoughts or is there something i am missing?

This may work but may also need adjustment to work in your instance as I may be missing what you're trying to achieve:

In the 'Max Number' box add something similar to the following expression (not checked):

=if(getselectedcount(Quarter)=1,3,if(getselectedcount(Quarter)=2,6,if(getselectedcount(Quarter)=3,9,12)))

As I say that may well need adjustment to fit with your exact requirements but it should be straight forward.

Hi, I did give that a go but didn't seem to change anything. .....Just to clear up what I want to achieve.

1. I have limited the months shown to be 3

2. When 2 quarters are selected , eg Q3 and Q4 I want it to display Oct/Nov/Dec in that order.

When one quarter is selected it is fine. however, when 2 are selected - It is currently showing Aug/Sep/Oct .

I can get it to show Dec/Nov/Oct but this doesn't meet my requirements. Hope this makes it a bit clearer.
