Difference between Qlikview and data warehouse

Hello,

could someone be so kind and explain to me what the difference is between QlikView and a data warehouse system? From my understanding so far, Qlikview is a reporting tool able to access data from a number of sources, including a relational database. However, why would I need an additional database if Qlikview can import and analyse data directly from primary sources? Based on my research, QlikView itself is based on a multidimensional database and has OLAP functions.

So.. IS Qlikview in fact a form of data warehouse, are the two interchangeable or am I confusing two very different options?
