Hi friends, I'm trying to look into an idea for my team where we want to move our QMC schedule into a database. This may create its own set of problems, but that's okay, we're willing to work through that.

Currently, we run a set of daily tasks, which are listed in the QMC under 'tasks'. Instead of using the QMC to enter those in, I would like the QMC to run a query against a database, which will retrieve an ordered list.

Is this possible? Thank you!

This is not possible, but you can have the QVPR run in a SQL DB if you wish:

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/qlikview/April2020/Subsystems/QMC/Content/QV_QMC/QMC_System_Setup_ManagementService_Repository.htm

To do what you wish would require a lot of other engineering to run things by likely using calls do the DistributionService exe using the -r parameter. The following Help link will explain the QlikView QV.exe call too, that would be the only means to do what you are contemplating.

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/qlikview/April2020/Subsystems/Client/Content/QV_QlikView/BatchExecution.htm

Thought of one other thing that could be helpful to you:

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/governance-dashboard/Content/QV_GovDashboard/What.htm

Regards,
Brett
