Display Average on Chart

hi guys, please find attached.

On my chart, my Expression looks like this...

=Sum({$<PERIOD={$(vMaxMonth)}>} HOUR_VOLUME).

I want to display a reference line to display the Average...what sort of Average will make sense in this context - Average per day will just follow the pattern of the current Expression...so maybe a monthly average?

How would the expression for the Monthly Average look like?

(I have a date field called Report_Date as well as the PERIOD field)
