Delete data values in Search object

Can any one suggest me how can I delete the data values of search box object. To make it clear understanding- I have 'SEARCH' object in my dashboard as 'Search' box is having drop down arrow when we click on that it shows whole data I don't want to show all the data like that. Do anybody know how can I eliminate that. The picture that shows below for better understanding.

Can we eliminate that. I don't want to show the data like that. It should be blank when the user clicks the drop-down. Please help me.

I am pretty sure the answer is no, that isn't really an option with the search box.

As @datagrrl wrote, you can't turn it of from the Search object. If your users find it overwhelming with all the fields you can limit the search object to a limited set of fields. It wont remove the drop down, but it will reduce the clutter of non-interresting fields.
