Single licenses

Hi All,

I’ve worked with Qlik for 10 years now and last year took the step into independent consultancy.

Until now I’ve always worked with clients on site who could lease me a named license

I recently took on a client and would like to do some remote work as well as develop my own dashboard, so I thought I would buy a named license for my company.

I’m being told that I can’t simply buy a single named license and the minimum is 5 which isn’t feasible, although does ring a bell from my time as a systems admin.

Just wondering what other independent contractors do?

Do you have QlikView server? , if yes then definitely, they have to sell minimum 1 named cal as well,
but if you are using personal edition, then you can ask for enterprise one.

No, it’s my clients that have the server.

Plus I’d like to develop my own “template” dashboards which isn’t feesible with the personal license when it comes to deploying those to customers.

Being a single person company I can’t quite stretch to the cost of a server 😉

yes agree , what you are using to connect to client network, any cloud-enabled facility or VPN?
if VPN , then you can lease license ,
Otherwise , i think, you need to buy enterprise license for QV desktop from Qliktech.

Yeah seems like this might be a recent ish change in policy which is frustrating.
I’ll see if I can find a reseller to sell me a single license!
