QVD size limit

Hello All,

We had a QVD which was of 8 GB in size, now we are unable to open that qvd.

Dashboard is throwing below error:

Error: Cannot open file: '\\-----\---\-----.qvd'

Now the same QVD is 0 KB in size , we are using insert and Update logic logic to store the QVD data.

what is the maximum limit to store data in qvd? any suggestion on this issue would be very helpful.

Hi,

There is no limit to the QVD size. It is limited to the RAM of your server.

The best practice to follow is "maintain 10x times RAM in your server" eg: if qvd size is 1gb, then RAM should be 10gb.

Any idea on what could be the reason for the above mentioned issue, sudden decrease in size of the qvd from 8GB to 0KB?

Probably because the load failed when updating which resulted in a zero file size. If you need more specific help, you should explaing your load logic and upload the relevant portion of the load script.

Hi,

This could be due to overwriting.

I suppose you've a backup of the QVD.
