How to create dynamic graphs by giving end user options for selecting X & Y axis.

Hi All ,

While creating reports , there is one challeneging requirement comes to us.

Our client needs a dynamic graphs by giving end user options for selecting X & Y axis.

Means client can select any thing (from defined) on X & Y axis & he will see revenue distribution for the selected axes.

I attached the sample layout in XLS for reference.

Is it possible in qlikview ?? & if yes , then how can we achieve this .

Use of dimension groups is one option. For example you can create a group Period (Year, Quarter, Month) on the X axis and flip among them in the same chart to see the distribution Year/Quarter/Month wise...

I agree that dimension groups are the best solution. The dimensions in the group don't even need to be related to each other in any sense other than "these are the dimensions I want to be able to put on the X axis". Dynamic reporting can get a lot more complicated than that, but you might as well use a relatively simple solution for a relatively simple requirement.

Thanks John , Really good words of guidance. Over weekend i can able to find out simple solution on the same. I don't see my objection to this document as it is matching my requirement which i mentioned. Here i am attaching my document. But again i need some guidance. What i done in document is 4 different charts , so i have to minimize / Maximize them on single click as if there are forming a group . Regards, Bhushan N
