It did the trick.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I don't understand the positioning and grouping requirement of the '{}' and the '&amp;lt;&amp;gt;' but I guess it doesn't matter.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If I add a further parameter then I would the comma before the '&amp;gt;' and enclose the values for the field within the '{}' eg sum({$&amp;lt;Year={$(vThisYear)},Region={'Ade'},ProductGroup={'Fruit'},SalesMan={'Jackson'}&amp;gt;}SalesValue)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks again.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;/Rainer&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have a chart with following expression&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;sum({$&amp;lt;Year={&lt;B&gt;&lt;I&gt;$(vThisYear)&lt;/I&gt;&lt;/B&gt;}&amp;gt;}SalesValue)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It currently outputs a single line with total sales for this year.
