AccessPoint: Is it possible to link directly to a document?

Dear all,

We have several documents within the accesspoint, and I was wondering, is it possible to skip the AccessPoint screen and proceed directly to a document?

Has anyone tried this in the past? I;ve tried setting this up by a simple internet favourite,but no joy!

You certainly can. We don't use AssessPoint or QV WebServer (we use IIS) for several reasons. When we installed QV Server and selected not to use QV WebServer then IIS was automatically configured and access to documents with http or qvp is straightforward. So, its simply a question of configuring the web server.

Excellent, how easy is this to set up? If possible, do you have any documentation, as i'm sure to be installing QV 10 when it's released, so I can install it using this method then.

Its very straightforward and will be in the install instructions. Here is a link to a post I made a while ago that summarises why we dont use AccessPoint:

As to going straight in when v10 is released I would be very wary of that. When I was going through upgrade testing to v9 I found show stoppers in every release and only found it acceptable when v9sr4 came out. Still found several bugs in it and it has proved a bit unstable, so I would leave v10 until at least sr1!
