Hi all,

Can I draw from everyone's expertise in helping to answer a question I need help on?

I have been successfully passing URL parameters through the HTML URL for a local web application to access relevant QlikView apps on our Access point server, drawing differing functionalities of many separate apps together into one comprehensive location. Each web page in my local site accesses a different Qlik app for a different purpose and requires passing selection criteria in the URL to access the necessary information.

However (and here's the challenge), one app has used a search object instead of a list box to display a restricted data list and it is not "selecting" the parameter because the search object functionality requires manual input.

Rather than the &select=XXXX URL parameter method, is there another URL operator (like POST, for instance) to interact with search objects through URL parameters in the Qlik environment? I can't change the app search object to a list box because I don't own the app, so I need to be able to add a pre-written search object query to the URL.

Is this possible?

Thanks all.

Why not adding an additionally listbox maybe very small with a font-size of 4 and without title, border and so on and hidden under other objects (not hidden on itself)?

- Marcus

Hi Marcus,

Thanks for responding. Unfortunately I don't have ownership on the app to be referenced, I just need a hyperlink to create the selection. Would that work if I create it as a user if the people using it don't have access to my created objects?

Is a created List Box, added by me alone, viewable to others using the app?

I'm not sure if it would work with own created server-objects and I don't really meant it in this way else creating a native object within the application. Even if you have no direct responsability for this app - the request of adding a listbox (maybe hidden to not change the visible layout) should be not a showstopper.

- Marcus
