Associating the same field in two different tables

I have table A and table B I have field Location in both the table..

what i required is in both the table Location field has same field but the filed values are like

Table A Location-->Kanjurmarg

Table B Location-->KANJURMARG

So i want both the filed value should link up in planing as well as in budgeting

Use Upper(Location) as location in table A

Use

Upper(Location) as Location in both table A and B or

Lower(Location) as location in both table A and B

we are doing the same in both the tables to keep consistency.

Upper and Lower to chose between uppercase and lowercase depends on your requirement.

Table A -->Location

but in

Table B -->Loc AS Location so it is not mapping by upper case

Load * Inline [

Location,Geog

Kanjurmarg,Mumbai

];

TableB:

Load * Inline [

Loc,State

KANJURMARG,Maharashtra

];

noconcatenate Load upper(Location) as Location, Geog Resident TableA;

noconcatenate Load upper(Loc) as Location, State Resident TableB;

DROP Tables TableA,TableB;

try the above code

Data in table has the same value just it is not merging

T1:

DATA

T2:

data AS DATA

now location manali in T1

location MANALI in T2

the data present in manali both are the same

Upper() should work for this while using Concatenate(T1) betweek T1 and T2 ..

noconcatenate Load Location as Location Resident TableA;

noconcatenate Load LOCATION as Location Resident TableB;

With respect to data values, QlikView is case sensitive and you can't change that.

If you want all identical values - except for character case - to map to a single dimension value, you'll have to change those values in your load script.

As suggested many times before, your best options are:

Upper()

Lower()

Capitalize()

Choose one of these and apply it to all LOAD statements that import data into the same field and in a consistent way.
