Metrics being pulled directly from flat file

Hi,

So there are certain metrics that need to retrieved directly from the flat file that the client has provided, how do I go about doing that in Qlikview? BTW I am super new to qlikview. Please do let me know if the problem needs to be explained in detail.

Hi savina, in script editor, bottom section, you have a botton to open the dialog to load from files (sema button as if you load an Excel.

In this dialog you can see the options to tell wich format has the txt (delimited by a character, fixed length, header rows, and a preview of the data loaded with the specified format.

Another way to show this dialog can be done dragging the txt file into QV, this creates a new QV, once completes the assitant you can see the script in creates, just copy to your document.
