Hi - Has anyone come across "geospatial" data as a source for QlikView? We have a potential customer within Utilities sector that require asset management analysis from mainframe running VME Integrated IDMSX. Is there anything I should particularly look out for here to show in QV? Also, can ODBC connect to this source or is flat file extract required? Tks

I'll let others talk about geospatial data, but IDMSX is something I tackled in a previous life...

It's a pretty rare ICL mainframe format (hierachical database) I've only ever seem in the UK market (IBM's IDMS database eXtended). Many years ago there were a couple of niche connectivity vendors that provided ODBC and connectivity to this system, I recall it being pretty expensive to buy and deploy though. Flat file extracts may make more senses in the short term.
