Need DROP DOWN selection for Expression

Hi Team,

I have straight table.It contains one dimension(A) and one expression(B)

I am looking for DROP DOWN selection for Expression(B).

Does these are FAQ's? It's not possible for expression level. And this option available only for Dimension

Hi,

You can do it in Expression.

All you need to do is go to Expression. Select the Expression you want to group and click on the Group button below.

Any other option to enable DROP DOWN option in presentation tab?

I am using Concat(B,',') Expression in expression tab.

It is not working if i use Concat(B,',') expression in back end script or calculated dimension.

We don't have the feature In Qlikview , we have the Grouping of expressions option .

If you want the drop down then try like this ..create an inline table with your expression name and in the front end add a list box or as a dimension and according to the selection made on the inline column enable your expression . This is the only you could get that representation

Not possible with expression, If expression can be used as calculated dimension than you can achieve this. But you have to check if the expression can be used as valid calculated dimension expression.

See this, Drop down select is not available for Amount in Expression but when I used that in Dimension I get drop down.

You can try this.

Try once only with B, don't use concat.

I know that.

But problem is i am using Concat(B,',') expression.

Concat(B,',') is not work as dimension.

If u want i wil give sample data.

If use other expression like (sum(sales),count(id)) working fine.

The option I gave is for Drop down and not Drill Down.

Yes, Work around should be in back end like

Load *, Concat(Value, Chr(10)) as Value_Copy

Then Front end you may place over that in over Expression within Straight table and that the field you must choose MultiBox and some changes needed from Presentation tab to looks good

Share the sample data ....if you concat in the dimension then I don't think you will get it as a drop down select
