It is not possible to change the default welcome page in the QlikView Desktop client - at least, that's the response I got from my local QlikView partner when I asked. The only alternative to using it is to have a blank page (disabling the welcome page) or link users directly to a QVW.

Insofar as displaying web content in a QVW - as far as I know, this is also not possible when using the desktop client, even when set to Webview.

If you want to display content from Sharepoint in a QVW, that's doable - you would have to read the welcome page from your Sharepoint site as part of your load script, and format the result in QlikView.

Pretty sure this has no chance of working - and even if it could work, it would just open google.com in your web browser.

If that's what you're trying to achieve, it's actually quite simple - set up a batch file that opens both QlikView and your browser (set to whatever URL you want) and point your shortcut at the batch file.

Amartinex35 actually has presented a working solution where as QlikView desktop version does not provide settings to automate this behavior. Just to clarify the required steps are:

1. create a new shortcut to desktop

2. when prompted for location of item navigate to qv.exe as suggested. Before confirming next add the url for your server's access point to separated by a space after the path to the qv.exe (eg. "C:\Program Files\QlikView\Qv.exe" http://your.qvserver.com/index.htm )

3. click next and give the shortcut a name. save.

4. now the shortcut opens qlikview desktop and directly opens up access point in it.
