can any body explain what are the dimension groups in qlikview with example???

Majorly, Dimension Groups are two types

1) Cyclic Group

2) Drill Down Group

PS - Groups used as state and region wise sales.

Cyclic Vs Drilldown:

 Drilldown groups are used for hierarchical data.

Cyclic groups are used for non-hierarchical data.

 Example of Drilldown groups is Year-> Quarter-> Month-> Week-> Day, Region->Country->State->City etc.

Example of Cycle groups is Customer, Branch, Product Category, Product, Salesman etc.

 For changing the dimension in Drilldown group we need to click (select) on a value in the chart.

For changing the dimension in the Cyclic group we need to click on the Group icon or we need to select the dimension from the list.

 In Drilldown group we can change the dimensions in the defined hierarchy only.

But in Cyclic group we can change the dimension randomly as we wish.

 In Drilldown group if there is only one value then next Dimension is displayed automatically.

But in Cyclic group it will display the same dimension even if there is one value in the dimension.
