Need clarification on Section Access

Hi Everyone,

I have attached source file and qlikview file related to section access.

When I am entering username MARY and password as MARY the application is not opening.

Similarly when i enter username AS USER and and password as USER.

I am able to see only costcentre A data.

But As per my know knowledge it should show data for costcentre A BC

Please help

I am new to section access.

Because, You gave only one CostCentre for USER. Check now it is working

For MARY Account also working. Check now i 've changed in Excel also. Please check the same and let me know

Your data model does not show data for cost center B.

MARY only has access to cost center B.

Since you have enabled option 'strict exclusion' in OPENING tab in document properties, MARY is denied access.

Everything looks good.Just login as admin/admin and reload the document and save it. Now try to open using different id's and you will see the correct data.

Take care not to save a QVW that shows a limited range of your reduction field values. This will create issues like you described when you try to open the QVW with a user that needs access to a different set of values.

In other words, only save your document after a full reload and double check that all reduction field values exists in the model.

Hi Anil,

What Actually * indicates here.

When I am replacing your excel file in my application.

I am getting same problem.

With Username MARY and password MARY application is not opening

With Username USER and password USER application is opening for costcentre A.

First you have to reload the application with your path and then look. For me it is working as you expected

And, * Indicates as ALL. It will give access for all CostCentre we can say
