topic Listbox in QlikView

I'm really new to Qlik. .Please can someone help me in understanding ListBox Selection? How can i get the selected item in a listbox? There is a way to write an Event handler? What i can do is get the selected value from a listbox and use it for a where criteria in a SELECT command.

GetFieldSelections() function allows that.

Many Thanks. So it seems GetFieldSelections() is used in the calculated fields but not in the main script to limit data download from the source. Is this correct?

It's Qlikview in-build feature, "GetFieldSelections() returns a string with the current selections in a field."
