I really need advice on how to get started with creating a dash board using micro soft excel sheets.

Your first step should be to use the search box in the top right of this page.

There you should find many many many threads on how to load excel sheets into qlikview

To help you get started, we'll suggest the first step:

Open QV Desktop create a new document by clicking the empty sheet icon in the toolbar or selecting File->New, press Ctrl->E (Open Script Editor), and from the Editor menu, select Insert->Load Statement->Load from file. Then follow the wizard instructions.

Repeat this for all your Excel files.

Mastering a powerful tool like QlikView won't work without some self-study. So do as Adam suggested, or go to QlikView 11 Developer Tutorial or Video Link : 3483 and watch a few introductory videos. Enlightenment will be your reward
