Search Object Hanging

Hi Team,

Application is hanging when using search object for few users. We are using Ajax application. Please let us know the solution.

We are unable to debug and customer is putting lot of pressure.

We are using QV11 SR9.

‌Hi, I think that it's a bug.

There is a bug about that solved in 11.2 SR11 (see release note --> bug 69611)

Global search object functions does not work properly in AJAX

I think that you will need to update your version. The last available release of 11.2 is SR15

Hi Sai,

Getting to a recent version is definitely a good idea, especially as there was a known issue as sfatoux72‌ says.

Also, it can be worth excluding any values from the global search that are highly unique and not much use for searches. In the properties opt to select fields and copy them all across, then remove things like internal link IDs and numeric values.

Hi Sebestien,

We have upgraded to QV 11.2 SR12 but still we are facing same issue, It is found that sometimes Qlikview is trying to give some dialog box (Message box) when using search box, UI team has blocked all those message to end user. So the application is hanging.

Another scenario is i think we were facing when using pre-load option. So we disabled it. It worked fine for a day but again issue come up.

Hi Steve,

Yes, we have upgraded our server. Also there are only required fields selected in search object. Around 12 fields but has huge data of unique values. Customer needs all 12 fields and not allowing us to remove any from search object.

Since that Qlikview search object is not efficient, do we have any alternate options like using elastic search in qlikview.?
