Activate object

Hi all,

I need to activate an object (i.e.,) a button has to be activated (Pressed) automatically when i click on a sheet.

Updated:

I need that button to be clicked or pressed automatically for every 10 minutes,

And i don't want the user to do that manually pressing every time, it should happen automatically.

Please let me know if it is possible or not.

Can you describe more what kind of actions it's inside of that Button object

Consider while i click on that button manually, it will display a table.

What i need is, that button has to be activated or clicked automatically, based on some condition.

Is that possible, with any qlikview functions like ActivateObject.??

Give That Table Default, So that it's visible only

like below from That table of Layout Tab as Conditional

If(VShow = 1, 1,0)

No. you are not understanding my requirement.

Simple. is there a way to click or activate a button automatically, without pressing it manually?

To expand on what Anil has said

1- Create a variable v_layout_table_show or something that makes sense

2- simply put this in your table 'show' option which is on the layout tab, note that you do not need an IF statement in this case as Qlikview will just read it as 1 or 0 which is sufficient

3- Create your button (or use a text box as they're much more flexible)

4- On the actions tab, add a new action, and under external you will see 'set variable'

In the top box of this action put in your variable name e.g. v_layout_table_show

In the second box you do need an if statement so =if( v_layout_table_show=1,0,1)

Job done

Ok so ignore the above based on your recent post! What action do you hope will click the button for you?

You can apply the same logic but using sheet / object / select triggers rather than a button action

That button will display a table. but that is not my requirement.

I know that an object can be hidden and shown by conditional layout.

I want that button to be clicked or pressed automatically for every 10 minutes.

In Qlik, we can't achieve directly. So that, You may ask to polymer team to integrate that enable option. Still, I didn't understand this. Why it's required every 10 Min. Does it make sense for User?

This expression will hide that button for 10 minutes.

I don't want this button to hidden. I want this button to be pressed or activated automatically every 10 minutes

That totally depends on how you implement the logic, to be honest I am struggling to understand what you are trying to achieve with the button press.

You might need to come up with a way of using variables to step through your process, the logic I provided could be your starting point.

Thanks for your reply. let me explain in brief.

Consider i have a button, and i have 3 text boxes.

Once i click on that button.

1st text box will be displayed for 1 minute, and then it will hide, after that 2nd text box will display for 1 minute and then it will hide and similarly the third one.

I want this process to be continued to display again from the starting, once the third one is done.

If all the 3 text box's have completed its 1 minute, then again it should display the first text box and so on, it should be in a loop..

I have successfully done the loop for first time.

To display the 1,2,3 text box's again, i have to click on that button again.

So i don't want to click on that button every time and display those 3 text boxes.

I need those text boxes to be repeated again and again in an order.

How may i achieve this.

Perfect and exactly what I needed to understand... this can certainly be done with variables.

So, you just need to trigger the cycle using the logic which should be do-able, can you share a qvw with your text boxes in so I can expand on it?

It is no bother at all, I like a challenge!

So this is a starting point for you but this will work as I set this up and the first box pinged up at 0840 and disappeared after 20 seconds

set vEndTime to

=if(frac(Minute(now())/10)>0,0,timestamp(now()+($(vTimerMinutes))/1440))

Then you just need to dollar sign expand that so for example in your show use:

=if(now()<$(vEndTime),1,0)

rather than =if(now()<vEndTime,1,0)

here you go, don;t forget if you push the button it is going to overwrite the variable, so maybe use a second variable (or set of variables) for the button and use an OR clause in the show
