How to deliver live application using third party server

Hello Friends,

I do have application. I want to show that application from hosting?

1) I have IIS Server and QlikView Server. I can create one root folder for this scenario. But, My client has Web Server i.e., 3rd part server. Can anyone explain me how do we show that qvw to users by using 3rd party.

2) Meantime, Explain me this. I don't have access of QMC. Do i get Lease from That server for Local Client? If yes, Provide me inputs.

1) I guess, when you say 3rd party server you mean - a different web server. If so, I would read the web server section from the server manual - that says:

Other web servers can be used in a QVS environment, but at some point the traffic targeting QVS has to go through either QVWS or the dedicated ASPX pages on IIS.

2) You can lease license only if you have a Named CAL.

1) Somehow, I do have QVS Environment on my Machine. I didn't understand the mean wither QVWS . ASPX on IIS

--- Because, I've enabled IIS on QVS. IIS is working fine. But, When i tried to open the QMC it doesn't show anything. I mean Then Tabs are not running at all which we have the Four Tabs on QMC

2) I do have Named CAL. LEt's Assume the NAmed CAL is ABCD. Then what are the conn string to get Lease

--- I've tried like below (qvp://ServerName@ABCD)

Can i know the process to get Lease.

Note:- I want to tell one thing. I do have Workbench which is situated that local client software for one AMI. And then i do have one Qlikview Server now i want to take lease from Server. I do have few qvw's i want to open those Files. Can you help me on this

Server Types

License Lease is available on the following server editions:

• QlikView Enterprise Server

• QlikView Small Business Server

License Lease is unavailable on the following server editions:

• QlikView Test Server

• QlikView Extranet Server

• QlikView Information Access Server

Good Discussion,

For 1st one, I hope i had tried all ways

2nd one, Similar to first one

3rd one, They have mentioned this

temporarily configure an AD Directory Service Connector for the directory in which my users are found -- How to give priv for Directory, Bcz i don't ahve access to see inside of the mentor
add the user to the appropriate Document Administrators list in QEMC -- Done, No luck
delete the AD DSC, as being no longer needed for this purpose -- I am not sure, I understand this. Bcz i am new to the Server

But, I do have one question. Once Admin guy installed the QMC how many services should there. Because, My previous company i have got 5 services after install the QMC / QEMC.

But now, Admin guy installed it showing only 2 Services. I don't know what does the wrong from Admin. Do we required / default for 5 services while installed of Enterprise / Management for a while.

I guess your installation is not complete or something is wrong with that. Ideally it should show 5 services running.

I hope so, I've raised the Ticket. They tried one more time. But, Now it showing 4 Services. Does it good installation.

I am not sure Why QlikView Distribution is not effected. Can you help on this.

And, One more question. I've read few thread which related to Lease license from Server to local client. But, is there any restrictions.(I mean, Only two users can access the license?)

If so, I want to explain my server restriction and capabilities

1) I do have 5 Named CAL's

2) 3 already occupied, So i am the 4th one

3) Does it make sense to trying the lease license from Server

Restriction is there, but it's like - you can only lease from at most two systems using one Named CAL.

Oh ok, Does this Restricred based on Named CAL only right?

I've re-installed the server s/w. Unfortunately, Web Service is not started. That is the cause we are not unable to access the files on Access point.

Yes on Named CAL only. I suggest to resolve your server installation issue first then try leasing it. Try with default installation option (with QVWS) then apply license key. Then it should work fine. Let know how it goes.

Again they tried. No luck. Why i am saying this. They are trying to start all services. Unfortunately, All works good. I am not sure why QDS/QVWS(Web Service) is not started. Any other way to restart / We have only one way to restart the service like Services from Window Bar

Tell me few more things, If we have 5 Names CAL's, How many users can we add on Directory from QMC / QEMC

5 CALs - five users. If you try to forcefully start the services - what is the error message you get?

There is no option Force Start. I am trying see that option. But'it's not visible. While start the Service it showing simply

1) Pop up would come like it will start and close immediate

2) Please restart the Service after hitting OK

3) Then, Finally it seems visible the Start Option again on the left pane. I am not sure what i need to do change other settings.

Did you check the server logs?

Is your service account a member of QlikView Administrators group?

Yes, It's seems ok to me. I've checked that Log files from this Path - C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer

Yes, I am the member of the local Qlikview Administrators group. That is a windows user group on the server which i installed Qlikview Server on. So the user exist in either AD (or maybe as a local user). You can't create a user in the QMC.

I've checked from server AMI for confirmation whether i am eligible or not. Like this from RUN prompt.

compmgmt.msc -- Local Users and Groups -- Groups -- Administrators -- From here, I got Members popup which admin created for me. Yes, It's visible
