Split Date column into Month and Year

Hi,

I am working on a qlikview dashboard. I want to display the date as a list of month and year seperately using list box. I was succesfullt able to implement it in my dashboard also. However when I select a particular year all the month get selected or when i select a particular month all the years get selected. I want to be able to select a particular month and year from the different list box.

Date field is loaded from database where its stored in an integer format. I cant split into columns using load script since the date is also a

‌synthetic key.

PLease help me.

This is a good reason to do some data modelling, get rid of the Synthetic Key, and create a Master Calendar with the separate fields for Year, Month, Quarter, etc...

I'd recommend taking a beginners class. All these topics are covered there. If you don't have access to training, perhaps you could learn from one of the books, like my book QlikView Your Business.

‌Thank you for your reply. I tried but when I use the year function it return a garbage value for year.not actual year

It might be easier to troubleshoot if you posted a sample. It looks like your Date field may not be a proper date field after all...
