fields values as criteria

hello,

something intersting...

i have table t with fields a, b, total_price

and anther table t2 with fields x, y ,z .

the customer needs is to group fields a,b from table t to field z and analyze the total_price by z .

field x has values of criteria for field a . for example:

w* - bring all vaules of a that start with w or *u* - bring all values of a that has u inside the value.

same things i have with y for filed b .

if x or y is empty its mean bring all values.

in the end i will get all combination of values related to each value of z.

example of table t2:

x, y, z

a*, , z1

b*,s?,z2

,*d*,z1

... and so on...

Take a look at the QV Cookbook example "Mapping with a table using wildcards". You may be able to utilize that for your need.
