Then edit the tnsnames.ora file and add an entry for the listener of your oracle database. That is necessary so the odbc and/or oledb drivers can find the listener of your oracle database on the network and communicate with it. If you're going to use odbc then you need to define an odbc connection too using the odbc administration tool. All this is totally unrelated to Qlikview.
