Okay, I managed to get it to work finally. I had to manually edit a registry key. Remember before you do this to create a restore point just in case something doesn't go right.

I discovered a previous installation of McAfee modified this key as a means to intercept script calls that might be trying to execute vbscript.dll. So, what I did was searched the registry for the key mentioned above, {B54F3741-5B07-11cf-A4B0-00AA004A55E8} and found the entry referring to the old McAfee program files path.

I modified that entry to read "C:\Windows\system32\vbscript.dll" instead. After doing that I registered the dll again just to be sure.

While referring to a different error, this article walks through this and shows how to gain ownership of the keys, etc, so you can make the modifications.

http://blogs.msdn.com/b/webtopics/archive/2010/02/26/asp-500-error-and-error-code-0x800700aa-when-browsing-a-simple-asp-page.aspx

Hi, I currently have the same problem on a win 7 machine running 32bit. I have other software installing without issue.

I first tried to do the following

Issue Installation of QV on Vista results in "installation ended
prematurely"?

Description Go to:
Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right Click on Command
Prompt -> Run As Administrator.
Type cd C:\Windows\System32
Type regsvr32 vbscript.dll
Retry installation.

I then used the MS tool called Windows Install Clean Up without success

Then I cleared the registry of all references to QV and Qlik, deleted all folders that reference QlikView and still cant install.

My log looks similar to yours

Property(C): PrimaryVolumeSpaceAvailable = 115561968
Property(C): PrimaryVolumeSpaceRequired = 553187
Property(C): PrimaryVolumeSpaceRemaining = 115008781
Property(C): PrimaryVolumePath = C:
=== Logging stopped: 28/02/2010 23:02:23 ===
MSI (c) (2C:F4) [23:02:23:379]: Note: 1: 1708
MSI (c) (2C:F4) [23:02:23:379]: Product: QlikView -- Installation operation failed.

MSI (c) (2C:F4) [23:02:23:379]: Windows Installer installed the product.

The only thing that I can suggest is to try to disabled the UACs (remembered that after having done you always to restart the computer) if this doesn't even work test to enter as administrator (I have seen that difference, depends from as you have shaped the authorizations of the user with which bushels making the installation).

Other, to say the truth, doesn't come me to mind.

I hope to be you useful.

Hi.

Marco
