Hi All,

We are installing a new Qlikview Server, so wanted to know if there is any standard practice to partition a hard disk? We are getting a 200GB of hard disk with Qlikview server installed in C drive. My question is, do we need any additional drives besides C drive or just C drive is enough?

In general will be one drive enough and is the easiest way to start. But to have at least one more drive where qlikview is installed and where the program data are reside (could be adjusted with a hardlink) and where applications, data and other things will be stored could be useful.

With this you will get a better overview over your qlikview-environment and things like backups or the transfers between different environments like production and development will be easier.

If 200 GB are enough couldn't be said without more details. But you should consider that the amounts of your data will be increase over the time and that you might implement data-architectures like a 3-tier architecture with generators, datamodels and reports which occupy some storage space.

- Marcus
