How to display search string in current selection box ?

I am using wildcard search option across all filters , when i am doing the search form search object then instead of showing the search string i am seeing values related that search in current selection box , but if i do the same kind of search from listbox/multibox able to see the search string instead of values

Can any one help me in displaying the search string when i am doing search from search object ?

Hi Chandana,

I am unable to understand your question properly.

your attachment shows wild card Search,suppose if u search as Normal characters then what is happening? had u got the correct string?

if possible please post sample QVW file with sample data then we will check what is happening.

otherwise it is to difficult to understand and solve the issue for us.

I hope that I understand your question right and if yes I don't think that this is possible - the search-string is only a search-string till it will be applied as selection which is possible in list-/multiboxes or dropdown-fields but not within the searchbox where you get fitting suggestions to your search and which you then could select - and only selections will be displayed within the current selection box.

Thank for the clarification Marcus, my customer was keep on pushing me like if it is possible for list box then why not for the search object so posted this question on community for for double check
