Hey guys,

Some QVDs I split up by months in the ETL stage jsut to get a decent amount of data to work with, These tables have a date column in them there I can split them by month easily...

but how do you split like a client QVD by month when there is no datecolumn in the db?

you want to split by client and month? If there is no date available, how would you even know which month it is?

You will need to get back to ETL and add a Date column to your core table.

If you don't have date column then you can't divided the data according to Month so

if you don't have the Date field then try to identify other field like ...region or location so based on that you could create QVD for each

If your qvd's are rather small and/or the slices won't be differently used in various datamodels you don't need mandatory to slice the qvd's.
