Error 1053: the server services won't start

Hi everyone,

I'm currently trying to open my Qlik Sense Management Console.

It was running a while ago, but now, I found out that the services are down.

When I try to start a service, I have this :

What should I do?

I've tried these 2 commands:

sfc /scannow

chkdsk /r

Then I've tried to change the connexion setting of the service to the local system like this :

But none of that changed a thing; And now when I try to revert this and change the connexion back to an administrator account; it won't.

I'm looking forward to any type of help. I'm out of ideas really !

Hi Omar

Just try this:

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.

2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control

3. In the right pane, locate the ServicesPipeTimeout entry. Note If the ServicesPipeTimeout entry does not exist, you must create it. To do this, follow these steps:

a. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
b. Type ServicesPipeTimeout, and then press ENTER

4. Right-click ServicesPipeTimeout, and then click Modify.

5. Click Decimal, type 120000, and then click OK. This value represents the time in milliseconds before a service times out.

Note: 120000 milliseconds (2 minutes) is equal to what the default configuration should be. You may find you need increase this number. 300000 (5 minutes) may be more suitable.

6. Restart the computer.

Do you have Central Nodes and Rims or its only one node.

Hi Omar

Check on the .Net Service is started on the server.

Start the service if its not. Then restart all the Qlik services

Is this still a problem for you?

We have seen a few examples where this is caused by a Windows update related to .NET Framework 4.5.2 / 4.6 and the latest Microsoft patches KB3098779 and KB3097997. If you have these installed, perhaps you can try and uninstall them to see if this is blocking your services from starting?

If this does not help, I would recommend that you contact Qlik Support for further troubleshooting.

None of the above helped.

What was done and what solved the issue.

QVS (and 4 other services) are running on servers in background, not under active user.

services.msc -> service -> properties -> logon as -> another service account in AD or whereever -> apply -> ok

I had an issue when non service account was used and service didn't start. but with service account everything worked well.
