topic Set Analysis - Current Date default to current quarter in QlikView

Not sure what it exactly is you want to accomplish, but you can load a field quarter based on the dates in your data. Either use that to set a selection using a trigger in the document by using the Max(Quarter) function. Or alternatively, in your charts/tables expression use set analysis like this:

{<Quarter={'$(=Max(Quarter))'}>}

This has not much to do with the current date, but with the max date in your data. If the current date is not in your data, this would result in no data anyway, so should result to the same.

I'm trying to figure out how to write an expression so that when the user opens the application, it will default to the current quarter, which will be tied to the current date. Any help?

Hi,

are you trying to get your whole application to limit down to the current quarter on open?

or just a specific chart to show only current quarter?

you can run an on load macro to just select current quarter for the first

or if it's just the chart, use the InQuarter function

so your dimension would be for example

=if(InQuarter([your date field here],today(),0)=-1,[your dimension field here])

and supress nulls

hope that helps

thanks

Joe
