Requirement Gathering at Client Side

Hi Friends,

I would like to know what are the aspects that are focused on for requirement gathering for designing a dashboard.

Given a scenario, I am at client side to collect requirements for Qlikview project, so what are the requirements that I should gather from them and should focus on?

Hi deepa,

That is depends on ur domain.and based on ur users requirments.

What ever they wants to show their data in diffrnt manner.they will tell u the way to do nd get the output to them.

And u can provide maximum posibilities to them to get the excat requirment.

And based on ur BRD the metrics will depends.it reflects the dashboard aswell.

Hi,

Hope below steps helps you.

1) DataSources

2) Identifying Fact Tables

3) Identifying Dimension tables and their relation with Fact tables(Key fields) or get Data Dictionary

4) KPIs to be shown in Dashboard like Sales, Profit, Profit %, Discount, Gross Margin etc.

5) Filters to be displayed

6) List of Charts to be displyed

7) Getting the Cyclic and Drilldown groups

😎 Any rule based display of data (using Section Access)

9) Additional features like Export to Excel, Email etc.

10) Getting Mapping data in Flat files if not available in Databases

If we speak about the technical areas to focus on ..what it would be? Like Data source and all....in that manner what can you suggest.

Missed below

- Check for preferred schedule for Dashboard reloading

- Check for Data size (If it is huge then we need to do the incremental loading)

- Who are the end users?

- Who are the Key Point of Contact?

- Getting client preferred colors, fonts, icons (if any some companies only use certain colors)

- Getting logos or images of company to display in Dashboard

How many years of data need to be loaded and showcased at first glance.
