How to add users in Qlikview server?

How to add users in qlikview server? I have 5 name cals. I dunno if Im right! Please lead me to solve my problem. Isn't it big deal? Thanks.

Heyy ,

In QlikView 10 open QEMC and follow this tree : tab System -> Licences -> then click on QlikView Server -> Client Access Licences -> Assigned Cals -> then type username and click on "Assign Cal" button.

and then Say Apply at the bottom.

I think this is the thing which you want.

Hi Nilesh,

i created New User through Assign CAL, but what is the purpose of creating the New USer ?

Is there any use for creating New User in Assing CAL ? Please let me know.

hello venkat ,

Actually you are not creating a new user but assignig a cal to existing user .

so that he/she can access the application from access point .

if using Named Cal then he can access application as well as he can lease also from server using named Cal

But if Document Cal the he/she can only access the document assigned

DocCal- 1 doc Cal Per User per document

named Cal- a user can access multiple application

here You are assigning a license to a user .

Hi Sunil thanks for reply,

currently my server license has permission for creating 5 CAL's.

1.) I had a doubt that to assign 5 CAL's, is it mandatory to create 5 User accounts in server machine to work ?

2.) consider in my organization, there are 5 machines.

i.e; SNo, UserID

1, User1 (Server Machine)

2, User2 (Local Machine)

3, User3 (Local Machine)

4, User4 (Local Machine)

5, User5 (Local Machine)

Can we make this 5 different machine users as a 5 Assigned CAL's ?

Hi Venkatveer,

Its not mandatory that u have to use that 5 Cal's to work.

and yes u can assign 5 cals to 5 different machines.

Hi venkatveer,

Follow the below tree:

Open QEMC in QV 10 then Go to the System Tab =>click On Licences =>Click on Type as Qlikview Server => Then go to the Client Access Licenses => you will find the various tabs => click on the General Tab => then In Identification select the machin name in front of Identify by User Name.

Click on Apply.

Then go to next tab Assigned Cals => in that Type the machin name in tha new user text box and click on the Assign Cal.

then Click on Apply.

Hi,

When i tried to change the UserName radio button to MachineName and apply. Again it is going back to UserName.

Why it is happening ?

Hi,

I have only on named cal for my server license.I would like to convert existing user name Named user CAL to

Machine Named User Cal.I added machine name and clicked apply.I have attached image for reference.After that when i refreshed again only existing user is shown.

Can you please help me to use the machine name identification, i'm using QV 11.20SR3 and when i set the machine name identification, i don't know hot to enter to the accesspoint via Browser or using QVDesktop "Open in server" i mean do i first assign a license for the machine name and then how do i access to see documents, I'm a little bit confused and can't find information that helps me with this.
