Question on loading a QVW file

Hi,

I have a question about loading a QVW file. Let's say I have two QVW files - Sales v1.qvw and Sales v2.qvw and I perform

the following:

1. Open Sales v2.qvw.

2. Go to script editor

3. Click "Qlikview File" and choose Sales v1.qvw.

4. Press CTRL + R (refresh Sales v2).

When I perform Step4, this is strictly loading the application data which is stored in Sales v1.qvw document and no other

logic carried over from Sales v1.qvw. Is this correct?

I am trying to determine why there is a chart in Sales v2 that is not working after the upgrade. It says "no data to display".

If I do above steps, the chart works which leads me to believe the issue is related the data which is my QVD generator app.

Am I troubleshooting this correctly?

Yes, I would agree with your analysis.

Open the expressions in the failing chart and look for the one that is in error.

I fixed my problem. It was in the qvd generator app. So it was data related as I suspected.
