Dear All,

I have just a simple question.

With Qlikview, there is a possibility to add 2 y-axes to a Line Chart plot.

Chart Properties >> Axes >> Position (left, right).

However, if Y1 axis has a scale between 0 - 30 and Y2 axis a scale between -200 - +30, then the plot will be almost unreadable for Y1.

It seems that Y1-axis is directly correlated with Y2-axis, not independently.

Of course, we can create drilldown, but two different lines in one plot makes the analysis pretty simple than from seperated plots.

Any idea to solve this problem?

Thanks and best regards,

Cornelis

You can use different static min and static max settings for each Y axis. But I know of no valid reason to use two Y-axes in one chart. The best practice is to use two charts instead.

On Axes tab in chart properties, there is an option 'Synchronize zero levels for expression-axis'. Disable this option to spread Y1.

Is this what you are looking for?

But this will probably make the chart even harder to understand.

You can use Left & Right Y-Axis lines and select static Min & Max accordingly.

This is a good point.

The option Synchronize zero levels for expression-axis is importanbt to tick on.

Option 'Forced 0' should not be ticked on. That will result in a nice chart with dynamic scale.

Thanks

Dear Gysbert,

Thank you for your effort. The static min and max will not help, the idea Synchronize zero levels for expression-axis is the best. But of course, static min/max can be helpfull to avoid squeezing plot(s).

Using two y-axes depend on what you would like to analyse. Both plots are sharing the same dimension, one reveals the Torsion and the other CUSUM. CUSUM is helpful aid to understand the progress of Torsion and it is therefore desirable to put into one plot.

Best regards,

Cornelis
