Extract data source metadata from QVW

Hi,

I am using Qlikview .NET library to read a QVW file. Specifically I am using Interop.QlikView library within the QlikView executable.

I am interested in extracting the metadata stored within QVW file to get information such as - data source type, data source tables, data source fields and more such details. The Interop.QlikView library does not seem to expose APIs for these details.

Please let me know if someone has come across similar requirements and found a way to read the above kind of details.

Highly appreciate help/pointers for my question.

If this space is not the right space for this question, please suggest what would be a good space for this question.

You can look into parsing the XML (or read it in with QV ) that is part of each QVW / QVD.

There are some threads here that demonstrates how to do this.

Also, the Governance Dashboard app loads in that QVW and QVD metadata related to data lineage and data type. You can find it on Qlik Market: http://market.qlik.com/qlikview-governance-dashboard.html

Ture. what if one wants to extract this Lineage info? where is it being logged?
