ODBC Connection to SQL server not working

Hi all,

Ive created an application that downloads data from a remote SQL server over VPN.

this works fine only a colleague (whos on XP!!!) wants it too so ive downloaded him the VPN client, pinged the server to ensure its working (it is) only his Qlikview cant see the server.

my colleague does not have any SQL server software on his laptop but I do, could this be the reason he cant see the database?

if not can anyone give any advice as to steps I can take to trouble shoot this?

Did you check that the odbc driver is installed on his system?

Did you define the odbc connection to the sql server database on his system?

Use OLE DB connection ?
