how to create a tooltip for a chart ?

Hi community,

how to create a tooltip for any chart in qv ?
whenever the mouse pointer is hovered over the chart it should display the appropriate values.

any example would be great.

Chart properties->Caption->Help Text:

Enter the text required, and when ever we place a mouse in chart we can see the text entered

yes but you can see the tooltip only when the mouse pointer is on the icon

As a chart is already hover-sensitive it is not possible to add a help text hover as well. You can either add a help icon as shown above, or you can overlay a transparent text box on the chart and add the help text to the box in the same way (Caption | Help Text). This will however prevent the users from making selections on the chart.
