If statement in a calculated dimension for a pivot table

When I use a simple 'if' statement in calculated dimesion I only get the true side in my pivot table.

So a date split using a variable for use in month end reporting won't function properly

IF(vdate>0101/2015,'Year2','Year1')

I can not the count on year1's as they are false, but Year2's will show as a dimension.

How to do this?

Not entirely sure I understand what you are looking for. Would you be able to share a sample?

If this is for fiscal period reporting, then I recommend that you create FiscalYear and FiscalPeriod derived fields in your calendar. Otherwise, please provide more information about what you are trying to achieve.
