Connect Qlik Sense to Historian from Rockwell Automation

Hi guys,

Has anyone connected Historian to Qlik Sense or QlikView? if yes, how did you archive this? Do I have to use a ODBC or OLE DB to get data from Historian?

I'd like to connect and extract data from that source; however, I haven't found a lot of information regarding this.

I hope you can help me with

Best regards

Hi @Rolando_Montero

I found this manual Factory Talk Historian SE ; it seems the device is a little PI computer enhanced by Rockwell; I am not sure if the PDF manual refers to the same device you got, I got a lot of hits by Googling search on "Historian from Rockwell Automation" these devices are even capable of connecting to Databases.

Hope this helps,

Arnaldo Sandoval

Hi!

In a nutshell,  I installed an ODBC connector I wanted to try out, but the Historian server needs some adjustments because it did not allow Qlik to connect. Therefore, the IT team should help me with that before trying again.

Thanks a bunch, Arnado

Hi,

We can stablish a connection to a Historian DB in Qlikview, just installing the Historian add-in for Excel in the server and using the OLE DB connector (an 'Historian OLE DB' provider is available after the add-in install)

Now we are looking for a similar path in Qliksense, but installing the Historian add-in for Excel in the server is not updating the OLE DB providers available.

Any ideas about how to connect and extract data from a Historian DB?

Regards,

MR
