Export pivot to Excel... straight format

Hi everyone!

Is there a way to export a Qlik Sense pivot table to Excel... in straight format? I need the same behaviour that there was in QlikView: now in Sense if I try to export to Excel I can see the data in "pivot" format... but I need to see them straight.

Anyone can help me please?

Thank you in advance.

Simon

Hello @simospa,

I believe that @vikasmahajan is right. Exporting the table directly from Pivot table to EXCEL will keep merging the cells of the same dimension instead of writing the same dimension value on each cell.

The only workaround is to temporarily convert the Pivot table into a Straight table and then export the data. For example:

1. Make a copy of your table and expand all the rows:

2. Now click on "Edi sheet" and from the left panel find the Table chart so you could add it on the sheet

3. Drag the Table chart on the second Pivot table and choose "Convert to: Table"

4. Export the Table chart as EXCEL and you will get:

5. Now you can just delete the temporary Table chart

If you would like the Pivot table to have the same export functionality as it has in QlikView, then you can submit a feature request [1]

I hope that this information is helpful.

Hello,

I have tried to reproduce the behavior in both Qlik Sense and QlikView and I can see the following observation:

The only difference that I can see from the exported EXCEL file by Qlik Sense that you have e.g. Prod1 displayed in one cell for all the corresponding values etc., while in the exported EXCEL file by QlikView e.g. Prod1 is displayed in each corresponding cell. Would you like to see the same behavior in the EXCEL exported file by Qlik Sense?

In case I have misunderstood your use case scenario, can you please elaborate in detail by providing additional details? Perhaps sharing screenshots from your observation will be very helpful.

Thank you @Andrei_Cusnir ,

the solution match partially because it solves the problem to convert the pivot into table by developer point of view..

Unfortunately it's not exactly what I need because I wish the same behavior that I have in QlikView. I'll open a feature's request.

Thank you!

Have a nice day.
