How to fix "Too many sessions active in parallel" i am on June 2020(Latest Patch) i am getting too many active session error and i am not able to solve it, please help.
Hi @ritgupta,
The "Too many sessions active in parallel" error in Qlik Sense typically indicates that a single user has exceeded the maximum number of parallel sessions/ in multiple tabs opened.( Mostly when Professional users and Analyzer users have Opened multiple tabs in browser)
Steps you can take to resolve this issue:
1.Check User Activity: Ensure that the user is not logged in from multiple devices or browsers, which could inadvertently open multiple sessions.
2.Session Timeout: Review the session timeout settings in the Qlik Management Console (QMC). If sessions are not timing out as expected, users may accumulate active sessions over time.
3.License and Token Assignment: Verify that the user has a proper license or token assigned. An unlicensed user may encounter this error.
4.Service Account Sessions: If a service account is used for Qlik Sense services, ensure it does not consume sessions by interacting with the QMC.
5.iFrame Access: If you're using iFrames, especially on iOS devices with Safari, make sure the site hosting the iFrame is accessed directly at least once to allow cookies to be accepted.
6.Client Disconnections: If the client device has been disconnected (e.g., sleep mode, lost VPN connection), upon resumption, it may send multiple requests with an expired session cookie, leading to rapid exhaustion of session count. Ensure that the client devices maintain a stable connection.
7.Database Maintenance: Confirm that the database maintenance tasks are correctly closing sessions that are no longer active.
8.Server Health: Check the health of the server hosting Qlik Sense, as well as the file share hosting the root folder, to ensure there are no underlying issues causing session problems.
