Logfile: Keep status on several days till new status

Hi experts,

I get a logfile that gives me the status changes per part number on daily basis simlilar to:

Day	Part number	status
01.01.2021	1	red
05.01.2021	1	red
10.01.2021	1	yellow
17.01.2021	1	green

The user wants to see something like in the picture: count on part numbers per day stacked by the status (red, yellow, green) (-ignore the blue lines etc for now).

Obviously at the moment I count the part number 1 only when there is a record on the day (e.g. 01.01.2021). 

-> how can I manage it, that the part number 1 also counts on the days between the record days in the logfile e.g. 02.01.2021 (red) or 15.01.2021 (yellow) or 20.01.2021 (green)? 

I thought of something like "valid from ..." - "valid to..." but I do not know how to manage this? Please help me 🙂
